Stephen is Executive Chair at Eneza Education which established operations of its virtual mobile classroom in Ghana in 2015. The service brings content, assessment, social tools and teacher-contact, and operates on a low-cost model to serve bottom of the pyramid users on their own devices through the mobile networks. Across Africa, Eneza has 1.8 million users.
Stephen also consults on emerging market strategy in Education for UNESCO, British Council; and on mature markets with the European Commission and the D2L learning platform. Having headed up the education business of the Open University and BBC, and written the UK Government’s policy framework on MOOCS (2014), Stephen is a thought-leader in learning innovations and writes regularly for publications such as THES, Financial Times and Global Insight.
